I seen on Scarborough Country late last night (news-talk-show) they said that 750 troops died training for D-Day. That is surprising to me.

Also said 19,000 civilians died during the invasion. Any comments to these no.'s?

Why couldn't we get the tanks to shore on D-Day? Comments appreciated.

It's hard to know what is going into that figure without knowing more details. It doesn't seem unreasonable given the numbers of troops involved. Young men, firearms, explosives and motor vehicles often have unhappy endings.

I assume that it includes the casualties from Operation Tiger, 639 dead, though I think it unfair to count those as training, not combat, deaths.

Again, lacking details of this claim, it's difficulty what's being counted.

The Transport Plan could have easily been counted as the majority of civilian casualties figure.
