Rather a bizarre question, but could anyone tell me whether or not HItler owned a dog named 'Ciro' or 'Giro' before 1934?

It's not that bizarre, Anne. You came close. It wasn't Hitler that owned a dog named Giro, but his ambassdor in London in the years 1932-1936, Dr Leopold von Hoesch. The grave of the dog can still be found on the premises of what used to be the Prussian, later the German embassy at 9 Carlton House Terrace.
