Dear Friends, The recent questions on the subject of Rudolph Hess caused me pose these questions. Did Mr Hess ever attempt to write or leave an oral record of his years with Hitler? Did the British government or a British historian attempt to debrief Hess?

yours truly,

Her Majesty's Government is slated to make some part of the Hess files public in the year 2017.

Rubbish. All the Hess files in the National Archive, including the Security Service files, are in the public domain and have been for 4 years at least.

There are a lot of records available from the Public Records Office about Hess, including translations of interviews and debriefs and all sorts of related issues (including his mail delivery and the possibility of his being called as a witness in a civil trial during the war).
